Nike Forced To Withdraw ‘Boston Massacre’ T-Shirt

Nike has been forced to withdraw a t-shirt emblazoned with the words "Boston Massacre" in the aftermath of last week's bombing in the city.

The sportswear giant pulled the item from shops following the Boston Marathon attack that killed three people and left 176 injured.

Nike spokeswoman Mary Remuzzi said in a statement: "We conducted this process as quickly as possible and are confident the product has been removed from distribution."

The shirts, which featured blood-splattered lettering, were designed to appeal to fans of the New York Yankees baseball team. The slogan refers to a famous series of victories over rivals the Boston Red Sox in 1978, which led to a World Series championship for the Yankees.
